Research shows that middle and high school students learning English make greater progress and gain confidence when they receive targeted, one-on-one academic support tailored to their language and learning needs.  


I’ve spent over 17 years supporting students as an English teacher in international schools, along with three years working online as an Academic Support Specialist. I hold a B.A. in English Secondary Education and an M.Ed. in International Education, and I speak Spanish and a little Turkish—experience that helps me connect with students learning in a language that isn’t their first.

When I began supporting students in virtual settings, I quickly noticed that many middle and high school English language learners were working hard but still struggling to fully understand English language and literature. Challenges with academic vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing expectations, and effective study strategies were often holding them back from achieving the grades they were capable of.​​ To support students in closing these gaps, I created C.G. English, a learning space dedicated to helping English language learners develop strong reading, writing, and study strategies that lead to greater confidence and improved academic performance across their English classes.​

I work with middle and high school students who:

  • Want to feel more confident in English class

  • Are motivated to improve their reading comprehension and academic writing

  • Struggle with understanding literature and written assignments

  • Want practical study strategies that work
