Hi, I’m Catherine Gallagher, a former English teacher turned Academic Support Specialist with over 17 years of international teaching experience. I have a B.A. in English Secondary Education and an M.Ed. in International Education. I also speak Spanish and a little Turkish.

 

When I began my journey working online as an Academic Support Specialist in 2023, I quickly noticed that many of my students were struggling with both content and effective study methods. To help students bridge these gaps, I created C. G. English to provide bespoke guidance and resources focused on academic writing, reading comprehension, study skills, and exam strategies for all students aiming to achieve grade 7 or above in their GCSEs.

 

Since then, I’ve been working with both UK and international students who:

• Want to thrive in their GCSE English studies, whether preparing for exams or improving coursework.

• Are determined to strengthen their academic essay skills, including analytical writing for literature and persuasive/transactional writing for language.

• Aim to build confidence in reading comprehension and textual analysis, especially when tackling unseen texts or complex literary works.

• Want to develop effective study and revision strategies.
